Movies that make you think – class for teens!

Next semester begins Sep 2018 (Click here to register!) Instructor: Karen Sculley Grade Level: 7th – 12th Tuesdays, 2:30 – 4:30 at Eastside Academic Studies (Lilburn, GA) Grades: 7th – 12th Course Description: Open to high school and middle school students, this class involves watching movies, discussing a wide variety of topics, and more. The goal of this class is to learn how to think with discernment and get equipped to impact our culture for Christ! This is not a homework-heavy class, but we will have a few reading assignments, writing assignments, creative projects, and classroom presentations throughout the year. Themes we will tackle include choices, justice, resourcefulness, teamwork, dignity, regret, abuse, hope, and many, many more. We will view movies from around the world (Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, French Polynesia, Norway, Peru, Russia, United Kingdom, United States of America). (There are no repeats from previous movie classes!) A weekly email with what we did in class / homework assignment / what’s coming up will be sent to both students and parents.
